The Nalani Goard Collection

The Nalani Goard Collection is now available at a few select stores here on Oahu or by contacting me directly.

The Nalani Goard collection is a selection of patterns designed by Aunty Debbie Kakalia and Nalani Goard.

20x20 Kits: Breadfruit "Ulu", Pineapple, Double Hibiscus, Guava and Gardenia.

There is a nice selection of finished products in sizes of 20x20, 45x45, 45x54 and 90x90.

A few facts:

A Hawaiian quilt is still a Hawaiian quilt no matter where it is being made or produced. What makes a Hawaiian quilt is the style and techniques used in making them. My Grandmother and I designed quilt kits for people all over the world and It doesnt matter where that quilt is being made or was made, what matters is that our mana or spirit is still in the design.  At this time we have 20x20 cushion kits in 5 different patterns and we also have a variety of finished products for those of you who would like to own a Hawaiian quilt but could never afford to buy one. There is no warehouse in Hawaii with Hawaiian women quilting in fact most Hawaiian women or locals rarely sell their works. If in fact we do you can bet the price will be much higher than what you see being sold in stores today. Our products are made of the finest 100% cotton and hand sewn by quilt experts. These kits and finished products have to meet our high standards to be put into stores such as Duty Free, Nohea Gallery and other specialty stores on the Island. You won't find the Nalani Goard collection at your local Wal-Mart, Kmart, longs or Swap meets.

Why are we allowing a few of our patterns to be produced? Simple, we want people to be able to enjoy our works and designs without paying high prices. I can still design and make a quilt for you but, the cost will be very high and there is a very long waiting list.

What makes a Hawaiian quilt Hawaiian is the the design and techniques used in creating them.

I am very proud and pleased with these products and hope that you can now appreciate and afford to own one also. Each quilt can be signed by me upon request. The chicken feet stitch can be added on for an additional fee. Large size quilt sets comes in a beautiful reusable Lauhala box.
